A waste of time
It never ceases to amaze me. We have seen that music is pretty much dead in the water insofar as getting people to pay for it. DRM is also heading the way of the dodo in music content terms. Movies will follow the same path, and the sooner these monolithic companies accept it, the sooner they can go about generating revenue from other sources, instead of pointlessly pouring money into solutions that just alienate the consumer.

Just why it is that they expect us to pay for something, and then we cant use it on other devices, is beyond me. If I buy something, its mine, and no one has a right to tell me how I can use it. If they try to do this, I simply wont buy their product, and I know I?m not alone.

If you look to todays generation, they are tech aware, and they get their music and movies off the net for free. I?m not discussing whether its legal or not, but this is a fact of life. And as technology gets better, bandwidth grows, and tools to actually do this become more prevalent, todays attempt to stop the hundreds of millions around the world from doing this will become more difficult.

Rather than trying to hold back an avalanche, maybe these distribution companies would be better served working WITH their customers, rather than against them. Give them the flexibility to watch any movie, on any device, without DRM, and try and earn their money through other sources (advertising, online surveys, providing customer details, and so on).
