UNIX developers...
The problem with UNIX developers has always been their arrogance in always assuming what the users should be willing to tolerate, or should be willing to learn.

and

The general user doesn't want ten differing GUI's, or ANY alternate GUI for that matter.

These are a non sequitur. When one is talking about the targeted market of Unix developers, one is referring to Unix users, not "the general public". Your statements, then, about the general public are not necessarily relevant to the audience of a Unix developer. No, the general public, or even Unix users, don't necessarily want 10 different GUIs. But they just might like the choice. I know I do.

Additionally, if you were indeed "I was one of (them)", then it is easy to see why you failed. The Unix developers that I know were meticulous in their end-user research. They would spend countless hours in user review, checking features and usability, and when the product was finished, it was what the users wanted. If you use yourself as representative of the Unix developer attitude in general, you arrive at a very distorted picture.

We will always buy market share over arrogance!

Well, since you have yet to prove your statement regarding the arrogance of Unix developers or users (which, exactly, do you hate? Or is it both?), your last sentence really doesn't amount to much, does it?
