If that were the case...
They'd just sell it as a no OS machine, throw a FreeDOS CD in the box, and wait for the buyer to pirate or buy a cheap Windows OEM CD. Like Dell does.

But installing and supporting SuSE, that's something different. SuSE is actually a pretty good OS. Some may say (myself included of course) that it is BETTER than Windows in many ways. And not just on price. So perhaps HP is actually liking what they are seeing out of Novell and wants to give them exposure to see where this might go.
