So the only place people can go to get programs for their computer are the ones tied to their particular distro? That gets back to one of my other comments about a standard installer. You mean I can't go to a vendor's site to download a program? Say I want a demo of Doom3, assuming that'll run on Linux, I can't just go to the vendors site and download a Linux version?

Also, I originally referred to UNPATCHED systems. I understand the number of remotely exploitable flaws in Linux is tiny compared to Windows. But still, imagine several thousand (if I may be so optomistic for this plan) Linux boxes that have received no patches for say two years. You telling me there won't be a single flaw that can't be exploited?
