Actually...
You can blame Bush if you like. However, if you consider that over $100 Billion was lost to the US economy 3 years ago in the 9/11 attacks, and the manpower and job experience lost, family situations altered, and that over a 150,000 other people have been called to duty in Iraq and Afganistan (and their resulting pay cuts and lost expertise in this country), I'd say we are plugging away quite well, actually. It is getting better very slowly, but better nonetheless.
I will confess that Bush is responsible for the troop buildup and its effects (as stated above), but companies have been downsizing IT since the .com bust of 2000. Add the aftermath of 9/11 to the mix and you have our current situation. He is not totally to blame.
Another thing to consider if you blame Bush's stupidity for 9/11: Clinton didn't stop the failed 1993 World Trade Center attack or Oklahoma City bombings, either. At least Bush has done something for security since then. Though I don't agree with his idea for postponing the elections in the wake of an attack. The 1st Tuesday of November date is mandated in the Constitution, and it would require a formal amendment to allow a postponement. Not doing so is to disrespect the Constitution and our heritage of liberty. And if we do change the Constitution, then the enemy has really scored a victory. Better they try to ensure it never happens, or take their medecine in DC if it does. And don't forget to vote out your Congressmen and Senators, too.
