What a ... historical progress!
At last, Intel managed to offer an x86 processor that has less severe memory limitations....

Who would hink that after the 64-bit computing became mainstream almost 10 years ago in the RISC / UNIX arena, people would STILL be striving to surpuss the 4GB memory limits!! But again Intel generated a lot of grief to developers and users with its backwards segmented architecture and other unthinkable restrictions...

Anyway, people put quick profits ahead of EVERYTHING. AMD took the back seat for a while to think out its 64-bit archtitecture. And they already came up with a CLEAR and well designed compromise between 64 bit computing and the woefull x86 ISA.

In the meantime, Intel is still trying to decide what is the best way? IA64 EPIC-RISC or over stretching the x86 ONE MORE time to the future of junk technology....

What a waste of time. Design a REASONABLE ISA and STICK with it! And this x86 `ISA' needs to GO!
