What they are doing is protecting there business.
You do no Microsoft does this all the time.

Real should try creating its own market leading product instead of hacking into others. If they care so much about customers they would give them a real player for once without spyware, or that's ad ridden.

And did you know they wanted to sell this hack to other companies?
