I think you're the only one here that gets it
The company is only as good as the products it sells. If it doesn't have product to sell, then the company will not succeed. It's the CEO's job to make sure the products get out, and that they're quality products. If needed, the CEO must crack the whip a bit to get everyone moving. His name is the one tied to the company's success or failure, and he's the one taking the biggest risks (he can either come out of it very rich and famous, or go to prison like Ken Lay probably will).

I read the complaints here about how the executives "always blame the 'worker bees'". Well, when products are delayed due to design or quality problems, it's up to the "worker bees" to fix them. People have to wake up and realize that, if they are to be competitive on not just a national, but a global scale, they'd better knuckle down and work hard. As one poster said, there are plenty of workers in India who would love to do the jobs Intel is having people do domestically. If the local people can't or won't do the work, they'll just force Intel to look overseas to have the work done.

Be very careful about making ourselves obsolete, people. You're the ones who are in charge of taking care of yourselves, not your employer and not the government. YOU.
