"Blame" (or thank) AMD
Intel is faced with serious competition for the first time and it shows. When we look back at Intel's history we see a company that became very comfortable and was able to dictate advances in CPU's for PC use, and their release dates. If the releae date got pushed out, no big deal, keep selling the existing chips. After all, we're the only game in town.

Today is a very different landscape, AMD is PUSHING HARD at better/faster CPU's and is providing users with a real alternative and it's an alternative that isn't tied to release dates based upon Intel's last quarter's financial statements. It's based on providing a better CPU, lower costs, and immediate availability.

Honestly, Barrett needs to put his foot smack in some folks backsides. Of course I would suggest he start with his marketing people and let them know they are no longer running the R&D or manufacturing departments...
