Toshiba did that too. They were banking on their technology failing and sticking it to anyone who invested on an HD-DVD player.

Nothing is stopping MS from making an add-on Blu-Ray DVD player, Einstein. So I don't see how XBox users who haven't bought the HD-DVD add on would be affected. Those who bought it took a risk, just like anyone else who bought a stand-alone HD-DVD player. It sucks for them, but they took that risk knowingly.
