RE: Microsoft says end of HD DVD won't hurt Xbox 360
On the xbox 360 the HD-DVD player is just a USB driver peripheral, just like a blu-ray player would be with some extra OS support ware.

Microsoft already sells plenty of movies on it's X-box Live system that is downloaded to the X-box 360's hard drive anyway, and they have an add-on size upgraded hard drive.. They just announced IPTV service for it, that should hit by holidays during CES..

That will make the 360 everyone's SETTOP box by choice.. The Wii can't even consume high def content or do more than 480p.. So I don't get the comments here about the Wii or what it has to do with it. I have played both and most people with both that I know prefer the 360..

As far as HD-DVD goes it would be nice to find a reasonably priced player that did both standards so those of us with a lot of "red" discs can seemlessly transition to blue.
