You're kidding right?
I have been using Ubuntu for about 2 years now. I do all the thing that you mentioned with great ease (no command line). Not to say I am above typing commands. The only requirement for using multimedia (as you call it) is that you research what you buy before you buy it. MP3/media players are almost a dime a dozen these days and many work well with Linux. The ipod works fine except for itunes (which will work in wine). As for games and moves, where have you been. Unreal Tournament has ALWAYS had a Linux version as have many others. However the open sourced games like Battle for Wesnoth, Alien arena, World of Podman, Nexuiz and many more are as good as or better than their "Off the Shelf" counterparts. The keyword again is RESEARCH. To find what you want you have to LOOK for it. Oh, and don't get me started on legacy DOS games. Dosbox handles them all with grace. If you just have to have a wizbang new title Cedega will probably fill the need for running it. Just check the compatibility list (research). World Of Warcraft runs fine this way. Your argument just dosen't hold water. I have over a dozen converts at this point and I am going to continue to spread the word. In a World without walls or fences who needs Windows or Gates?
