As Mike's rep, this is welcome news
I've scheduled a lunch meeting for later this week to discuss the repercussions of this announcement. Like the true IT god that he is, Mike is wise enough to not lock himself into a single hardware vendor. It doesn't matter if it's Intel or AMD, as long as it can run Windows. That's how great moments in office history occur. A four-CPU Opteron server? Think of a quad-boot Server 2003 installation running on that baby! Mike demanded to be an alpha-beta-gamma testing program member, so we're bringing him all the latest. The only equivalent would be a four spout coffee machine in Mike's busy IT office...and we're working on that too for his MSCEs, who demand a good brew when working extended hours. With my wise and objective counsel, and the prowess to jump on such innovative product streams, a good CIO like Mike will take his company to places yet unseen!
