As a consumer that was "punished" for investing early in the VHS/Beta wars of yesteryear, I learned a valuable lesson. If more than one media format debuts...NEVER...NEVER...invest until the market indicates a clear winner!
I have seen the demos of both products and neither are substantially better than a DVD for the price difference.
As to the war between formats? IT IS OVER! How to tell? Wal Mart doesn't sell the HD-DVD any more as of about two weeks ago.
