dvd vs blu-ray happy
Most people don?t realize what DVD looks like on a high definition TV. According to Best Buy and Circuit City, the number one reason people return their high definition TVs back to the store, is because they aren?t satisfied with how standard definition tv looks like on their high definition TV. The fact of the matter is, that your old tube television set did a better job of showing standard definition than any high def TV. The source really does matter.
DVD (same as standard definition tv) has 480 lines (720 x 480) = 345,600 dots
Blu-ray has 1080 lines (1920 x1080) = 2,073,000 dots
That?s six times the clarity of dvd that blu-ray has.
If the number one reason people return their TVs back to the store is because they aren?t satisfied with how standard definition looks like, then blu-ray is not a nice to have, but a necessary to have. Especially if you want to take advantage of your high definition television set.

I?m not saying that people wouldn?t survive without blu-ray, I just think people ought to really know what to expect from their dvd players, especially on a high definition tv.
