RE: iPhone spurs Web traffic, if not music sales
I have had several phones capable of browsing the web. I recently received the iPhone as a birthday present and it has been one of the most impressive pieces of technology I have ever worked with (I am a software engineer, btw).
I can tell you the reason I browse with the iPhone more than any other phone I have had is simple - I can browse the web like I would at my computer. There is no limitation (other than not viewing flash animation - egh) to what I can do on the web through the iPhone. If you are on wifi, it is just as fast as most desktops. If you are on the Edge network, it can be a little slow... but you are still able to find the information you want, almost anywhere you are. I used the iPhone while shopping throughout the holidays as a way to communicate with family and find out what my little cousins were asking Santa for. I also used it to compare prices in the store to those online - it saved A LOT of money for me!

I look forward to the release of the developer kit, as I am confident it will open the floodgates to increased functionality on the iPhone. Although, I don't know exactly what Apple has in store in terms of distribution rights and developer access to the iPhone's Operating System. It will be interesting to see how it evolves.
