Overkill

Okay, you're sitting in a movie theater and want to know what
time it is. So you announce loudly, "Time!" and your watch
loudly tells you what time it is. Then the rest of the patrons of
the theater proceed to pound you.

There's a reason why watches have changed so little over the
years. The only major revolutions I can think of are running on a
battery instead of winding, and the introduction of digital
watches as an alternative interface to the sweeping hands. When
an interface is simple and works perfectly for the task it is
assigned, it's a mistake to pile all sorts of extras on top of it.
