Yes, It Plays Fine.......
....now. A BluRay player, as I understand it, can only play a current spec DVD because it has the capability put it there by the manufacturer to do that. Its like they put a "mini" DVD player in the BluRay unit. A staight BluRay system without this capability added into it, can't play a current DVD.

What I'm saying is, what if BluRay wins out? They could decide to drop this backward compatibility at some future date and all the current DVDs would be usless.
