First, OLPC is a non-profit. Second, Mary Lou has strong ties to the OLPC
group, and third, the commercialization of OLPC innovations for non-school computers will drive up volume and drive down costs.

Mary Lou's company might not even sell the computers themselves, just the engineering and support to implement the technologies. OLPC also wants to get out of the hardware manufacturing eventually, and focus on the software. It all makes a lot of sense.
