Thoughts from a heavy flash drive user
As someone who has used portable flash drives heavily over the past few years, this service appeals to me. I have had numerous devices spontaneously fail, and having an automatic backup of my data and applications would save hours of lost work.

Because I regularly run applications from my flash drives (applications that use cache files and similar create-then-delete temp files), the flash drives have "worn out" and I instantly lose everything on the drive. The typical lifespan for these drives have been about a year. (And, for the curious, I only use SanDisk products, primarily for their warranty.)

But will this service also work on non-Windows computers? I regularly use OS X and Linux, and have the same issues with flash drives that are only used with those operating systems.

And will this service work from behind a password-protected firewall?

Amazon's IP section of their User Agreement clearly states that users retain full rights over their uploaded data. That is a relief, although confidentiality concerns still remain...

Thankfully I never use a flash drive as the only storage device for critical files; only for temporary transport between systems. ?Viva good computing practices!
