TV switch costing money which many need for heat or mortgage.
The law forcing a switch to digital TV was written by corrupt government officials (are there any other kind?) who were bought and paid for by a consortium of consumer technology providers who want to force people to spend money on replacing in service TVs that work just fine -- thank you -- with their newer overpriced junk.

The average home has -- what? -- maybe three TVs in it, so multiply three times the number of homes times the huge cost of these unnecessary replacement TVs (made necessary only by some stuffed shirt lobbyist's bought law) and you can calculate the billions of dollars being stolen right out of consumers pockets... consumers who -- by the way -- are still trying to find ways to pay for heating their homes this winter after the tripling of fuel prices and/or paying their suddenly ballooning mortgage payment to stave of foreclosure for another month.

The criminals who voted this into law should be removed from office, and the lobbyists so involved should be subject to "extraordinary rendition" and sent overseas to one of GWB's torture camps

There, the first rant of 2008. We got it out of the way early this time. We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

happy

Regards,
Jon
