Which is interesting in itself
As two weeks ago while going thru the channels on the television I happened upon an episode of Star Trek (the newer series with Patrick Stewart) and in one scene a character pulled out a small hand held device which looked markedly similar to the iPhone/iPod of today.

The character touched a few ?buttons? on the screen of the device, which then reconfigured to a different screen, and so on. 10(?) years later, Apple wins awards for a sleek ?original? design. I wonder how much inspiration or ideas are drawn from science fiction, or similar sources.

After seeing that on the television I have to feel that somewhere in Hollywood a prop designer or writer at Paramount is feeling a bit cheated out of not receiving some recognition for having the idea ahead of everyone else. sad
