At the end of the day here's how I see Apple's rise to success:-

Make great looking, easy to use out of the box product.

Sell to people who don't care about the insides of it, just what it lets you do/make.

Laugh at the geeks who get all excited about some new chipset or whatever when their preferred product still looks like something liberated from the office.

Create cult following.

Simple really!! And fair play to them - if PC and other tech manufacturers made simple to use, great looking products that were focused on end result not the means to it, I reckon Apple wouldn't be half as far ahead as they are...

Right, I'm off to polish my iMac.
