Good Old PET
I still have my very first computer stuck down in the basement. I got the Pet with 16 GREAT BIG KILO BYTES of RAM which I later expanded to 32 KILO b of RAM. The other 32 K was taken up by the ROM that held the OS. It was followed by a SX-64 (The first "portable" computer" then a 128 and finally a 128D. All were really great machines for the time. The only two models I never had, of the more common ones, were a Vic-20 and a standard 64. I still remember the banked memory in the 128 along with both the 64, 128 and CPM capability in that series. Never did get into the Amiga world.

I may just have to go home and fire up the PET in observation of the Anniversary Celebration.

The one common comment was that Commodore had absolutely the best engineering and technical development team and the absolutely worst business management team of any of the computer makers anywhere. If they would have had a sales and marketing team of the same caliber as the tech team, there would never have been an IBM, Dell, HP, Compaq, Gateway, Acer, etc. around. Apple would probably have still been in direct competition with bulb but with a different market to serve.
