He's right about "Americans buy anything as long as its cheap".

The C64 was an electrical junk pile. The failure rate was astronomincal. The floppy disk was slower than the cassette drive for the first year or two, and likewise had a huge failure rate (the heads were always getting out of line).

But they did drive the price down and help make the home/personal computer revolution happen. Lot's of software companies got big building for the C64 as well, EA and all consolidated companies, Synapse, Broderbund, ...
