And so the saga continues
as the once mighty American Empire starts to crumble from within. The bureaucratic weight of greed and gluttony smothering the American dream even further. Taxes and more taxes and even more taxes. We have some of the worst public schools in the developed world. We have a corrupt and inefficient health care system. The elderly are being gouged excessively for medicines they require for their health. We have the ability to develop and utilize clean fuels and alternative power sources, thereby breaking our supposed dependance on Arab oil. And what does Joe American do? Not a godd@mn thing! We sit on our @$$ getting screwed by corporate America:

Enron ? Energy price gouging (still happening! Maybe not Enron but it is happening.)
Microsoft ? Shoddy workmanship with no foreseeable relief in the next 2-3 years, the consumer is left holding the bag.
Exxon ? Fuel price gouging and stifling of clean fuel source research.
Chevron ? Fuel price gouging and stifling of clean fuel source research.
IBM ? Offshoring technical jobs.

Just to name a few, please feel free to add to the list. And now the Federal Government wants to add another tax to the already overtaxed and burdened American public? I have an idea! How about cutting some pay for oh say all the fat congressmen and senators! This is the start, then lets take away all the privies they seem to get at our expense, you know, using military air lift as their own personal transportation, paying for their hotels and parties, just to name a few things. And then how about their retirements! I think they should have to be on a 410K program like everyone else. And how about all the other extravagances they seem to enjoy at OUR EXPENSE!

What is wrong with the American public? Are we that apathetic about the state of our nation? I blame a poor education system, one that doesn't teach many of the base values and about the founding of our nation and the source of our government. Have we as a country lost the vision our fore fathers set out with when we began 228 years ago? Come on people, rise up and use your power to vote and if that doesn't work then I think it would be time for some drastic changes. This is not the United States I remember reading about and growing up in as a kid. We are on the same path to self destruction as the Roman Empire did. Greed and corruption from within our government will destroy this nation. Not terrorism, not some unseen enemy, our own apathy and greed is killing a once proud and powerful as well as respected nation. Now we are falling apart and the only solution the feds can come up with is to tax the people even more.

The last time the American people were so heavily taxed, we fought and won our freedom.

I have one question: Does anybody know what type of government we live under?
I do....
