Actually I do get it.
Well, that one fatal flaw that the "beige" now black more often then not has more people swearing by it than ou have by yours.

I'm not the biggest fan of microsoft and it drive me downright loonie at times, but you've forgotten that as of last year, for any given mechine that some one bought, about 70% of then ran some form of Microsoft. Apple had about 4.2% down about .2% form 2 years ago. market share. And just for referance, about 12% had some Unix based system.

If that system had such loyal followers, why are they outsold by Linux?

What it really somes down to for the adverage person is that they want to beable to walk into their local compUSA, Walmart, computer store, and get a peice of software or that fancy new joystick and beable to talke it home and install it on their computer without needing some expensive emulator software or being out of luck.

For better or worse, the PC is by far the standard that the computer (and most of the world by the way) revolve around.

Most people are willing to go for something that doesn't look so cool and isn't quite as fast at a couple types of applications if it means that they and get software and hardware everywhere. and they can take it into their local shop and they can fix it without having to send it back to the factory or it requiring major surgery.
