You don't get it
The iMac is a consumer machine, not a pro machine. This may
come as a surprise to you but the majority of people in the world
who purchase a computer, of ANY platform, never upgrade
anything on it. The iMac and eMac were built to be simple,
quality computers that people could use trouble-free for years,
and that's exactly what they are. If you need something you can
expand you buy a PowerMac or a PowerBook.

Your beige box that you put together yourself might have been
very cheap but it still has one fatal flaw. It's running Windows.
Forget what Macs look like. It's the OS that makes Mac users so
loyal. They could build the box out of rocks and sticks and we'd
still pay top dollar because of the OS. And what's more, the G5 is
simply amazing. My office recently bought me a dual 1.8 ghz G5
machine and two Dell dual 3.0 ghz Xeon boxes for a couple of
co-workers. The G5 smokes the Xeons hand down, and it cost
over $2,000.

One last thing, it's Mac, not MAC. It's not an acronym, it's short
for Macintosh. A writer should appreciate the difference.
