Flexibility?
Flexibility to do what? Take it apart, swap out parts?

Ask yourself what a computer is supposed to do for you. It is in
essence a tool for data processing and communication. Apple is
increasingly seen as the go-to guys for scientific computing.
Faster floating point calculations for the G5 makes it so. In
media and communications Apple is the creative persons choice.
If you're not creative, what are you?

OSX is the most advanced desktop available. Good at picture
editing? Everything presented to you on a computer screen IS a
picture. OSX's postscript support is currently unrivaled and
postscript is the lingua-franca for text and image. So what are
we talking about here?

If it's FarCry LAN parties and music theft we'll step out of your
way. If it's low cost that you need?well I'd be less inclined to
shout it from the rooftops?we all get what we pay for.

So the Mac is the girlfriend's computer? Are you being
dismissive of the Mac or the girlfriend? Be on the watch for the
train that is going to hit you. It will be powered by 64 bit RISC
processors, it will not be derailed off it's Unix track. It will be
remarkably free from viri and the products of malice, and it will
be driven by your girlfriend.

regards
