Yes, everything is relative but we have what we have.
When people buy a computer - they do not care why Mac
does not perform as it should be ...

Please, pay attention to what I wrote:

I wrote if ... you use Adobe Premiere ..., if ...., etc. - G5 Mac
is about 2.5 times slower than the PC (= G5 Mac is 2-2.5
times more expensive for TYPICAL USERS).

Do not forget - Adobe Premiere vs. Final Cut Pro is twice
cheaper ...

and ...

... the majority people are not photo/video/audio
professionals.

I also think that Panther is better than MS Windows,

but ...

Panther is only $129 (less than MS Windows). Why Mac
should be so expensive if Mac is so slow ...?

The bottom line:

It would be OK if Mac is not the fastest computer if ...

... if Mac would be the cheapest computer ...

According to my research - many people love Mac but
cannot afford it (especially now).

If Apple would port OS X on Intel platform (existing PCs) -
the problem would be solved = no Apple monopoly (niche
market).
