The last AMD toaster was
About five years ago? The days of the last K6/II's and III's?

As far as I remember, the real early Athlons may have been slightly hotter than the PII's but anything since the release of the first Durons till now have been significantly cooler than any comprable Intel chip. Am I wrong?

And don't bring up the "smoking" of the AMD's when powered on without a heat sink. It was a heat dissipitation phenomenon not an overheating issue. That small surface produced less heat than the conprable Intel's with the larger surface area and so higher temps. without a heat sink.

Like lighting a cigarette on an electric stove set on low and boiling 2 quarts of water with a cigarette lighter. Both acts are impossible but switch the heat sources and both tasks are accomplished.
