I see the MS Surface and the iPhone as two different things. The technology behind their touch screens is totally different, and they are built for two separate things. I like the surface, I am not sure why they went with infrared over multi-touch, but I for one would rather see this in a hotel or a restaurant as something new for me to use than a 3.5" phone that I have already had for the past 5 years anyway.
