The sites that are spinning this as a total positive are just as bad as ZDNet spinning this as a total negative. There are 2 important points to consider with this development from Apple:

1: There will be new iMacs in September. This is definitely a good thing.

2: Apple screwed something up royally by letting their current iMac line run out of stock this long before the new ones arrive. Beyond that, they royally screwed up in the way it was announced. If they were this close to running out of stock, they have known it for weeks. They could have either ordered a short run of iMacs to stretch their supply until at least August -OR- they could have announced the development last week at WWDC and actually created some hype around it.
