Re-compressing compressed files
From what I've read, this device will take your mp3's and convert
them to ATRAC. Doesn't that mean that you will have, at best,
no better quality sound than the mp3 you're starting with, and
more likely, worse quality sound?

Maybe you're willing to convert 13,000 songs from cd to ATRAC,
but most people already have a collection of mp3's to start with.
