Exactly. The product may have been attractive if it acutally supported other formats, but it doesn't. Instead, you take your music formatted in other compressed codes and compress them yet again into ATRAC3. Ahhh... nothing better than the sweet quality of compressed compression :P

Plus, I'm not buying the 13,000 tracks on a 20GB drive, either. Yeah, apparently you can do it, but only at 48kbps... no thanks.

Sad thing is I was excited to Sony getting into the market. With decent battery life, etc. they really could have made an impact if they had just avoided the entire ATRAC3 thing (or not necessarily avoiding it... it's fine that have it, they just needed to include some actual standards as well. MP3 and WAV should be required by law.)
