- Maybe I am just too different
- I can't understand why anyone would want a laptop over a desktop anyway. They are proprietary and the parts are expensive and the upgradability is just about nil. Mobility is about the only reason I can think of. I know way too many people who buy laptops and never move them. I had one friend call me to work on his laptop and we literally took the veneer off the desk trying to flip the laptop over so I could replace the memory!! I have never -- and will never -- purchase a brand name. I have built every PC I have owned for over 20 years and can guarantee I have saved thousands of $ doing it this way. Of course if you don't know how to build them then isn't really an option. I do recommend to the everyday user to get a brand name just for the warranty and price as I can't compete in the price category.
