Uhm, no.

Microsoft doesn't make monitors. Never has, and almost certainly never will. They don't make computers either. The only hardware that Microsoft makes is the X-Box, mice, trackballs, joysticks and other game-interface hardware, and the Game Voice (which is also game-interface hardware). Microsoft is a software company, that makes both OSes and applications.

Apple is both a hardware and a software company, and makes computers, monitors, other hardware, OSes, and applications.

One of the biggest advantages to owning an Apple, assuming you're the sort of person who is not interested in being a computer geek but just wanting to get real work done and having a system that just plain works, is that the computer and OS are from one company. With Windows, you have a problem, who do you call? Microsoft? But they may tell you that it's a hardware problem, and that you need to call the compuer manufacutrer (Dell, HP, Gateway, whoever). Okay, you call them, and they say it's an OS problem, and that you need to call Microsoft! Apple can't do that, because both the OS and the computer are from one company.

Would you buy a GM vehicle for mission-critical purposes, but get the engine from Ford?
