Spurs on a Cell...
Agreed; Toshiba have a long history of innovation. I read in registerhardware about their plans for a commercial graphics chip based on Cell, so can certainly leverage their investment in this and I'm sure countless other ways - they wouldn't buyb into this kind of fab to bury it.

I'm sure you can tell from my tone that I would advocate HDDVD for video; I would probably prefer to use bluray for data but it's likely that one medium will become predominant in the market for both. To the casual reader I just can't help thinking that the partnership will look decidedly <*>ODD<*>...
