RE: Can Seagate steer hybrid-drive market?
I hope they keep the quality of the drive up. It is man reason that IT Managers like Seagate that they have a higher MTBF rate than other drives but recently I had several newer Monentus drive fail for no reasons (ie no SMART errors, pass disk test, etc.) and had to send those in for replacement. Hybrids have both capacity and speed so I think Seagate hopefully decide to go this route and make a reliable drive for us. HP using only flash drives have smaller capacity drives so people with tons of data on their systems will shy away from these even though they maybe fast but you need both for road warriors. For those who just use the laptop for commuting ans sync their laptop to a large capacity desktop this is okay. Again road warriors don't have time to do this so the large capacity and fast hybrids are they way to go for now.
