Pentium M
The Pentium M is Intel's first good design since the P-III at, what was it, 450MHz? (And even that was only a slight modification of the P-Pro/P-II.)

The amount of money they wasted on the Itanium and P4 designs (esp. the ones that were cancelled and will never see the light of day) was staggering.

The market was theirs to own, and they've let AMD into the game.

Not to long before we have dual-core Athlon64s v. dual-core Pentium-M systems. I think until that time, AMD will have the run of the place, technologically speaking.
