Competing with Celerons isn't what AMD should be doing.. P4-based Celerons can't keep up with anything.. the lack of cache on the Celeron, and the P4-architecture's looong pipeline don't mix well..<<

But..But..But... AMD has to do SOMETHING with the chips that don't quite pass muster. The Celery line has mostly been a way to recycle those P3/P4 chips that didn't quite work properly when they came off the production line. No reason why AMD shouldn't do the same thing. If it makes them more money and the Sempron chips blow comparable Celery chips out of the water as expected, then it's yet another feather in AMD's cap.
