Apple's smartest and dumbest moves...
Apple made a brilliant decision when they incorporated Boot Camp into their models a while back. Their laptop market share doubled from 6% to 12% in less then a year. There couldn't have been a better way to draw more PC users to Mac then that decision. Unfortunately, they followed that masterstroke with a short-sighted blunder by limiting their new iPhones to AT&T. With AT&T's CEO's attitude that the "Internet shouldn't be free" Apple was getting in bed with the enemy. AT&T failed to note that the Internet already isn't free, because (a) I paid for the computer I access the Internet with, (b) I pay for my monthly DSL/Wi-Fi connections, and (c) AT&T doesn't compensate me for either of these. Include the fact that AT&T has the one of the worst wireless networks on the planet, and it makes you wonder why Apple chose AT&T to represent them. Unless it was because AT&T was the highest bidder. Nonetheless, Apple is shooting themselves in the foot if they don't allow iPhone users to choose other wireless providers. They've already dropped the price of the iPhone for obvious reasons. They'll have to drop its price again if they "allow" AT&T as their sole wireless provider.
