But they didn't suddenly open the gates to their proprietary hardware to do it. They sold a proprietary kit that includes a Linux distro and some hardware. That kit allows you to run that Linux distro on the PS2 and that's about it. In fact, I know the hard drive sold with the kit can't be used in the same manner as the other PS2 hard drive, for PS2 games and such. I'm not sure about the PS2, itself, though... does anyone know? Does the PS2 still function normally once the Linux kit has been installed?

People are trying to sell the Linux games they make on the PS2? It would seem an awefully limited target audience as anything you write for PS2 using the Linux kit can't run on a regular PS2 (at least that was Sony's story when they started selling it.) On top of that, once a game is developed via the PS2 Linux kit, how to you distribute it?
