Free Agent 320 Gig External
I just purchased and set up the Seagate Free Agent External USB 2.0 Drive on my HP DuoCore Machine. I like the new look, and I purchased it because of my longevity with Seagate and the Barracuda Series.

I tranferred 192 gigs of my Lossless WMA music library to it and using Disk Pro 8.0 to optimize the drive took 5.45 hours. As cool as the plastic case is and all, I was indeed worried about the plastic and how hot the drive would get inside. Surprisingly, the case did get warm but never hot and very quiet. I wish the transfer speed was faster and I know I wasn't being bottlenecked by the USB 2.0 Bandwidth. I wish the drive would had a 16Mbyte cache -- It is only a 7200RPM. Seagate uses a nice Amber long LED light to let you know that the external is operating and fades in and out softly when the drive is reading and writing. No problems with Vista on this item, and I realize I paid under $120.00 dollars for it, good deal, but it would be sweeter if the drive was SATA.
