I agree up to a point
think just the fact that it's new is going to get a lot of people buying a new one

I agree that in many cases that is true, but that is where my price comment comes into play (it wasn't a critique): at 249.99 my wife will be far, far, far less inclined (thankfully happy )to give away or shelve her current iPod for the new model as will many others, as opposed to my Creative Zen at 69.99 which I could give to a niece or newphew as it was so inexpensive I could do that and get the newer model.

So yes, what you say is true, but I fell only up to a certain point, that point being where the cost comes into play. So I wonder how many parents will rush out to by the new iPod for their kids, or how many of the average users will do the same.
