The Microsoft Rep
I recently observed the village idiot wandering the streets of our town. Since I was concerned that he might be lost, I asked him if he was OK and did he need any help. Between his babbling and the drool running down his chin, he told me that all was well and that he had recently become a M$ Sales rep. Told me it was the greatest thing that had ever happened to him. He explained that in his new job, he constantly dealt with people who were of equal (or less intelligence) than he was. Told me that selling them additional M$ stuff wasn't a challenge, even for him. Just told them he had a new suite of software that they couldn't do without and out came the checkbooks. Said he was on his way to visit a Mr. Cox and hoped to close a big sale before his curfew at the state mental institution (he's on the day pass program). I bid him good luck in the future, and he assured me that all would be well as long as he was able to get his pass each day. Said most of his fellow patients at the hospital had gotten jobs as CIO's in M$ dominated IT shops and that selling the stuff was easier than begging quarters from passersby.
