Apple shares rise on new iPod buzz

Congrats Apple!!

Man, you gotta hand it to a company that can convince users to shell out $129/year for service packs, $100+/year for battery replacements (including the cost to rent a phone while yours is in a bin at an Apple repair facility since you can't change the battery yourself), and $399/year when a new iPod color is released. This is great news for Apple shareholders and even better news for Apple execs who are already multi-billionaires yet, funnily enough, don't contribute a single penny to charity unlike Bill "Satan" Gates. Is it good news for the poor saps who find themselves locked into the Apple treadmill? Hmm, not so much. Makes me glad I refuse to buy any Apple product!
