- What ever happen to asking for directions...shhees! My favorite GPS story happened when I and my two other sister's were on a car trip with my gadget crazy brother in law. He told his wife to turn at the exit 500 feet ahead. The navigation was right on the money. He continued the countdown...400...300..200..100 feet...we all broke out laughing when she missed the exit because she was too facinated by the satnav countdown. Even signs would not have helped her (or us) get where we were going that day. We ended up having to drive 10 miles out of our way to get back on track. So much for technology.
