One person rails against "possession" laws, paraphrasing the old adage "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." That's somewhat true when there are legitimate uses for the items in question. But there are other concerns, including safety. What would you say about someone who was found with explosives in their pocket at the airport? "Oh, they haven't set them off yet, so it's not really a crime." Or to a person who had 20 bottles of Tylenol laced with strychnine?
I certainly agree about the drug laws, though. I think drugs should be legalized, government subsidized, and given in copious quantities to anyone who wants them. It would do wonders for the gene pool in this country. And cut the need for such drastic police powers as has been granted during the "war on drugs".
But to the topic at hand: DirecTV will not release a non-DRM digital recording option without the approval of Disney, Time Warner and News Corp. And they WILL NOT approve. So don't hold your breath. - Posted by: terry flores Posted on: 11/10/08 (Edited: 11/10/2008 @ 03:45) You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
