What year are you in?
Performance of AMD chips has matched or exceeded those of Intel for three or four years now. The chips you are talking about are several years old and actually did very well.

The current chips from AMD in many ways exceed the performance of Intel. The new chips that AMD announced two weeks ago are now available, and the specs look very good. The initial tests have been outstanding.

I think you need to look you facts over. Even the older and slower chips that AMD had did beat Intel in some forms of software. They were also the first chips that were not based in whole or part on shared patents from Intel. Now we have Intel licensing the 64bit design from AMD!
